Artist Statement
My lifelong passion for art led me to pursue a degree in Visual Communications and move to New York City where I became an Art Director at an Advertising Agency. After a few years, I took a job at a TV Station in Ohio as artist and then as TV director and producer.
After ten years, I moved to Florida to accept a job as Production Manager at a Fox affiliate. I produced many commercials and television programs and was awarded the prestigious Iris Award, for excellence in television programming. When the station sold, I became Media Director at a mega church.
I am now semi-retired, working part time in media which affords me more time to devote to my love of abstract painting.

In my paintings, I want the viewer to feel the emotions and the actions of the paint on the canvas. I want the viewer to believe they can reach in and touch the painting. The paint is layered so that each color builds depth into the painting.
I rarely have an idea of what I want to paint before I sit down at the easel. I let the painting have its own voice. I will, however, apply the paint with my emotions, to help bring life to it.
I apply paint in various ways, with a brush, a pallet knife, my hands, or any other way, it doesn’t matter. I keep working until it tells me it’s finished.
To me, painting is like life, you make changes until you’re done.
